Result of Oil in Kenya

Oil Discovered In Kenya, Turkana.

will she be a victim or benefit immenselyA sad day for Kenya as oil is discovered in Turkana. The foregoing sentence sound a bit like hogwash since as it is internationally known and accepted, oil is gold and since gold is an expensive and valuable mineral then it follows that something being compared to gold is one that would paste semi permanent smile on the faces of greedy Kenyans, Kenyans, who in spite of the well documented ill effect of oil on social life and security of individuals will at once fall into schemes of ways and means of displacing the bona fide residents of turkana as they scramble for this black gold.
It is a sad day for as it has been found out world wide that where oil is discovered, there also cemeteries are discovered, often mass burial sites. Humans, often humans with base instincts rarely let anything stand between them and that which they crave. There are humans already salivating at the prospect of the wealth they will lay hand on once the oil is running. Anecdotes have already started immerging concerning the imminent scramble for turkana and the oil there. The major victims of these anecdotes are obviously the kikuyu who are considered in light fashion manner as the most scheming Kenyans but in an ugly manner as thieves and humans who feel more entitled to Kenya. Here is one such anecdote:
now that oil is in turkana, research shows that kikuyus origin is in turkana. They lived in the area long ago and used to cross lake turkana by boat but the boats were sinking yaani GUTURUKANA hence the name turkana. Andu aitu ni tuchoke muchii .
loosely translated, the name GUTURUKANA mean to sink and from it you may conjure the term turkana, the anecdote ends by calling upon the kikuyus to go back home, sounds like an innocent joke until the greedy humans strike with government’s paper and just like in the colonial times, the turkana dwellers will be moved.. I.T. guys and Photoshop expert are already at work and already an arsenal shirt worn by van persie is already doing the rounds with the soon to be iconic words turkana oil. Turkana oil will soon own a Barclays premier league team is the optimistic hope of some soccer crazy Kenyans.
But the darkness amidst this seemingly beautiful piece of news is that the greedy hyenas are possible as we speak importing guns and machetes. We hope not, we sincerely hope not. We hope that this oil will only make turkana the African home to benign rich lords who will hopefully buy an English premier league team or simple turn the Kenyan premier league into a world beater.
Stories have started to immerge that somegovernment thieves sold potions of land in the oil rich zone. The sum of money mentioned are monumental by Kenyan standard but mere change if you look at the value that land would command once the mining of this black god has commenced. It has been alleged in the Kenyan media that certain minister received kshs 860 million for a potion of the turkana land, this is equivalent to $10 million dollars, mere charge if you look at the potential fact that land might mint that amount of money per hour once the mining commence. If there is truth to that allegation, then the minister in question should be hanged until he dies or such punishment as is inhumanely possible should be rained upon the minister.
The people in turkana have had their ambition so shored down that a Kenyan cartoonist captured their emotions perfectly when he drew one turkana character receiving the news of the oil discovery from a beaming president with the skeptic question: “and when will you discover water?”. it was not apparent to this hungry, basic-needs-seeking, turkana’s dweller that with oil, you can have piped water coming all the way from the united states in Kenya turkana is synonymous with hunger, it is turkana that glory seeking diplomats and celebrities should visit to see how poverty look like because in kibera, it is not that there is much poverty there or that people die of hunger, it is just that the humans there do not care about their appearance and that why they look as if they are in dire needs; the kibera and other slums dweller just look filthy largely due to poor drainage and close proximity of their dwelling place. The media of cause want you to see that kibera where everything is as it shall be in hell.
It is a sad day for Kenya for if Kenyans fail to prosper, there will be no excuses, it is even sadder for manufacturing industries who have always said that they sell their products at exorbitant price because of the prohibitive prices of fuel, it is a day of tears for the most despicable parastatal in Kenya namely the Kenya power and lightning company which has been fleecing Kenyans since independence with pregnant electrical bills where at time the fuel charge is as high as 80% o f the total electrical bill. It is also a sad day for the politician who are bribed to side with manufacturer of basic need goods to fleece Kenyans knowing that if nay question are asked concerning the rising cost of the living, they can always point at the price of oil which they can always say that they have no power against since it is imported staff but now since Kenya has her own oil the excuses will no longer do. K.P.L.C can no longer charge that huge fuel charge and get away with it. These individuals have to find new ways of fleecing their fellow man and you can bet your valuables that they will.
